We investigated a new coating process, scanning corona-discharge coating (SCDC) for making organic single crystal films. We could easily control solvent evaporation rate and direction of solidification with SCDC process. We demonstrated single crystal thin tri-isopropylsilylethynyl pentacene (TIPS-PEN) films and Oligothiophene thin films. Thin-film transistors fabricated by SCDC show a high OTFT performance with high field-effect mobility, which is comparable with that obtained with a single-crystalline, ribbon-like TIPS-PEN active channel. |
