제목 Self-assembly of amphiphilic copolymers as skin permeation enhancing carriers
초록 Topical drug delivery system is one of the most interesting research fields in pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. Many researchers have tried to increase skin permeation of active materials mainly by reducing their size. The purpose of this study is, however, to figure out other factors to have an effect on skin permeation and to optimize their condition. Here, novel nanoparticles based on poly(butylmethacrylate-co-[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride) [poly(BMA-co-METAC)] are introduced for non-invasive drug delivery. These new carriers can transport biological active agents through the intact skin. This capability comes from not only deformability, but also surface charge of the carriers. In order to prove the main effects of deformability and surface charge, poly(butylmethacrylate), poly(methylmethacrylate) and its copolymer with METAC are used. These nanoparticles are applied onto the guinea pig skin in the Franz diffusion cell to verify our investigation.
