Recently, we have reported the three distinct evaporation process of water droplets which is consist of the constant contact area mode, the constant contact angle mode and the mixed mode. In this study, we investigated the shape changes in evaporating water droplets with various initial concentrations of solutes by using two different polymer films. Our results show that, regardless of the magnitude of the initial contact angle, the time fractions in the constant contact area mode and in the mixed mode are increased while in the constant contact angle mode is decreased as increasing the initial concentration of solutes. It indicates that lowered receding angle and earlier appearance of Marangoni instability caused by the increase of concentration of solutes in water droplets. |
