The evaporation of sessile droplet has attracted a lot of attention from both scientific and application viewpoints. Recently, we reported that the emergence of the mixed mode in the end of evaporation is caused by dissolved contaminants in a droplet with a low concentration. In this study, we present systematic changes in evaporation behavior of aqueous solution droplets prepared by addition of solutes having different alkyl length into water. Although there was no variation in initial contact angles, the evaporation process was dramatically changed from three-distinct to six-distinct stages as increasing the alkyl length of solutes. The inhomogeneous distribution of solutes which are placed at air-water interface in evaporating droplet is considered as a significant factor to affect the evaporation behavior of droplet. |
