Self-assembled polymeric micelles have been widely used as smart vehicles for tumor-targeted drug delivery and controlled release of various active agents. However, these polymeric micelles suffer from poor in vivo stability in the body after intravenous injection because of their physically self-assembled state. Therefore, significant amount of drugs may be released before reaching their target site, causing severe side effects. In this study, we developed nano-sized bioreducible core-crosslinked hyaluronic acid micelles (CC-HAM) by a facile method using a reducing agent in aqueous conditions. The physicochemical characteristics and stability of the CC-HAM were investigated in detail using various analytical instruments such as 1H-NMR, TEM, DLS and UV/VIS spectroscopy. |
