Silver nanoparticles show highest conductivity and reflectivity among all metal nanoparticles. And the resonance wavelength strongly depends on the size, the shape of the nanoparticles, and the distance between them. In this study, we have developed a novel method to prepare silver nanoparticles by photochemical reduction of the Ag+-incorporated polyethylenimine (PEI) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) alternate thin films fabricated by the layer-by-layer assembly process. To confirm the thin film growth and Ag nanoparticles formation, quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and UV-vis spectroscopy measurements were employed. We explored micropatterning using a patterned mask and examined the electrochemical properties of Ag nanoparticles by photochemical reduction of Ag+ ions incorporated in a PEI/PAA assembled thin film. |
