Using pesticides become the cause of health and environmental pollution problems, so protection of environment system for insect control is demanded globally. The principle of mating disruption dispenser is to attract male of insect that mistake synthetic pheromone with real female pheromone. For effective application of the artificial pheromone, optimized dispensers have been needed to release the pheromone beyond the reaction volume in males for a long time. In this paper, sol-gel (silica) matrix for dispenser material was used to make controlled release oriental fruit moth (OFM) pheromone. Sol-gel (silica) matrix has small pores and possibility that control of the degree of cross linking during synthesis process. For sustained release dispenser, silica matrix was synthesized with controlling reaction time and reaction temperature. From FT-IR, SEM, BET, XRD data, silica gel from tetraethyl orthosilicate(TEOS) had small pore size and large surface area. Therefore, sol-gel (silica) matrix is good for containing the OFM pheromone and sustained release. |
