Synthesis of Highly Thermal Conductive Liquid Crystalline Epoxy Thermosets Resins. |

Liquid crystalline epoxies (LCEs) have been focused as thermoset resins with high thermal conductivity. In this work, we synthesized novel LCE series by substituting mesogenic moieties into diglycidyl terephthalate. Mesomorphic behavior of the LCE series were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. We cured LCEs with curing agent and measured their thermal conductivities. Thermal properties of LCEs thermoset were conducted by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). At the poster section, we will discuss more detailed characterization of LCE series and their thermal properties. |
