One-pot synthesis of poly(ε-caprolactone)-b-poly(vinyl alcohol) block copolymers using a dual initiator for RAFT polymerization and ROP |
초록 |
An efficient one-pot procedure for the synthesis of amphiphilic poly(ε-caprolactone)-b-poly(vinyl alcohol) (PCL-b-PVA) block copolymers using a hydroxyl-functionalized RAFT agent, 2-hydroxyethyl 2-(ethoxycarbonothioylthio) propanoate, as a dual initiator for RAFT polymerization and ROP was successfully developed. The PCL block was first polymerized by the ROP of ε-caprolactone (CL) using diphenyl phosphate as a catalyst, followed by the RAFT polymerization of vinyl chloroacetate (VClAc) after quenching the ROP of CL with 4-dimethyamino pyridine. The resulting PCL-b-PVClAc block copolymers were directly aminolyzed to PCL-b-PVA block copolymers in the same pot. The resulting PCL-b-PVA block copolymers showed very narrow molecular weight distributions. |
