제목 Fabricationof eumelanin supported palladium nanoparticles and their application to Suzukicross coupling reaction as a heterogeneous catalyst
초록 Melanin is a multifunctionalmacromolecule found in nature. It exists in animals, plants, skins and hair, and consists of pheomelanin and eumelanin. In this study, we focused on eumelanin which exists asan oligomer form composed of 3-4 indole units. It has metalchelating ability as well as goodelectrical conductivity. For these reasons, we thought thateumelanin could be a good candidate as a catalyst support. For the synthesis of eumelanin based heterogeneouscatalyst, we fabricated eumelanin by oxidizing L-DOPA (L-3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine),and  successfully attached Pdnanoparticles on it. Theresulting eumelanin supported palladium catalysts afforded a good catalyticactivity in Suzuki cross coupling in water.
