The development of omniphobic surface is one of the most interesting topics for potentials into various applications such as oil / water separation, non-fouling, and drag reduction. In order to achieve high performance omniphobic surface, it is essential to obtain both static repellency and extreme dynamic stability with low surface tension liquids. Although the cuticle of “springtail” in nature provides great impressions to system design satisfying both requirements, almost systems focus mainly on only static repellency. In here, we fabricated hierarchical system that consists of nanoscale serif-T (doubly re-entrant) on microscale wrinkled surface. We mimicked structural features and dimensions of springtail cuticle. Therefore, we achieved superomniphobic level of contact angle (~ 150 °) and extreme dynamic robustness (We ~ 53) with ethanol droplets. We believe our system can be one of the most optimally designed omniphobic surfaces to satisfy static and dynamic performance. |
