Among the conducting polymers, PPy has attracted considerable attention because its electrical conductivity can be varied using the redox reactions and it has good stability in both air and aqueous media. However, the main problems of these conducting polymers have been the difficulties in processability, mechanical, and chemical stabilities. The graphene/conducting polymer composites have attracted much attention due to high aspect ratio, outstanding electrical conductivity, excellent mechanical properties, and cost efficiency. Graphitic materials such as graphite, graphite oxide (GO), and graphene were incorporated for the preparation of composites with conducting polymers. PPy/graphitic materials composites were prepared by in situ polymerization and their gas sensing behavior was evaluated by characterizing with FE-SEM, XPS, XRD, RAMAN, TGA, and resistive response. |
