Preparation and Evaluation of Oral Mucoadhesive Hydrogel Containing Dipotassium Glyrrhizinate Hydrate |

Drug delivery through the oral mucosa is more permeable to drug than general skin and easy to remove. The patch for the treatment of stomatitis previously developed has a problem that it is not easy to contact in salivation-rich oral environment . In this study, polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) was used as the bioadhesive polymer. The PVA hydrogel containing drug was manufactured using the freeze-thaw method, and then showed high adhesive strength. As a treatment drug for stomatitis, Dipotassium glycyrrhizinate hydrate which alleviates skin stimulation and has anti-inflammatory effect was selected. In addition, using the Golden Syrian Hamster oral mucosa, healing effect could be confirmed through macroscopic evaluation and histological evaluation. |
