Bioadhesive Effect of Transglutaminase Reactivity with Marine Extract, and Application to Eyelash Adhesive |

Adhesives containing acrylates are commonly used for eyelash adhesion. However, acrylate-containing adhesives have been reported to cause contact dermatitis and toxic conjunctivitis. In this study, we considered characteristics such as biocompatibility, proper adhesion and usability for application as an adhesive for eyelashes. Marine extracts and transglutaminase (TG) were selectied to synthesis our eyelash adhesives, because they are biomaterials to improve stability over acrylic adhesives. Moreover, marine extracts have improved usability by processing sonication and hydrolytic enzymatic reaction. Eyelash adhesion measurments carried out on porcine skin. |
