제목 | Brief Overview on Silicon Chemistry and Some Silicon-Containing Materials |
초록 | Silicon is the most interesting element which forms bonds with most of the other elements of the periodic table. As a result, it has important inorganic, organic, organometallic, and polymer chemistries. Furthermore the special properties that silicon possesses make a big progress in these chemistries, and exploiting silicon and silicon containing materials in industry. Among silicon-containing materials, silicones are the most important silicon-materials used in industrial, medical and medicinal applications, for which there is no carbon analogue, such as fluids and elastomers. Currently we have been carrying out research on silicon-containing advanced materials such as silicon materials for electronics and cosmetics, transdermal drug delivery system utilizing silicone adhesive and nanotechnology, and new types of drug containing silicon. In this presentation, those results mentioned above will be presented. |
