Paclitaxel Delivery System Based on Self-Assembled Nanoparticles |

Paclitaxel (PTX) is one of the most effective chemotherapeutic drugs used in many cancer treatment. However it is hard to apply in many diseases due to low solubility in water and physiological conditions. To enhance its solubility, we constructed self-assembled nanoparticles through host-guest chemistry between PTX and CD. It has less than 100 nm size of nano-sphere and form stable nano-assembly structure. It showed higher water solubility than PTX owing to hydrophilicity of CD. Furthermore, this inclusion complex showed enhanced antitumor effect than PTX. Finally, we developed self-assembled PTX-CD inclusion complex via host guest chemistry. This novel concept has the potential for further biomedical application of controllable drug delivery system. |
