The Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Aggregation-induced Emission Nanoparticles Encapsulated with Biocompatible Polymers |

Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) dyes have the property of increasing fluorescence at high concentrations, in contrast to the conventional dyes. AIE dyes with distinct optical properties and biocompatibility can be successfully applied to the bio-imaging. In this study, in order to synthesize a highly stable AIE nanoparticles, diketopyrrolopyrrole core based AIE dyes with the triphenylamine derivatives were designed. Since the synthesized AIE dye does not disperse well in an aqueous environment, and may negatively affect cell viability, water-dispersible AIE nanoparticles (NPs) using biocompatible polymer Pluronic F-127 and PMMA were prepared. The prepared AIE NPs showed excellent particle shape and fluorescence intensity by optimizing the content of each biocompatible component. |
