The lightweight materials have attracted great interests in various fields. In this work, -COOH group-containing hyperbranched polymer (HBP-COOH) was introduced to the glass fiber-reinforced polyamide6 (PA 6) based syntactic foam (RSF). The rheological, thermal, morphological, and mechanical properties of the RSF composite were characterized. In rheometer data, the viscosity and the shear stress of the HBP-COOH containing RSF composites (RSF-COOH) were reduced. Tensile strength and flexural modulus were increased by 24.3 and 9.7% respectively, in RSF-COOH composites. SEM images show that the compatibility of the fillers with the PA 6 was improved when the HBP-COOH was added. Due to the decreased shear stress of the RSF-COOH composite, the HGM breakage was reduced from 9.14 to 2.84%. Consequently, the specific gravity of the composite was decreased from 0.948 to 0.917. |
