제목 Fabrication of the Colorimetric Thermo-Recorder Using  a Polymeric Inverse Opal
초록 Recording a thermal history is important for a wide range of temperature sensing and therefore, patch-type colorimetric thermo-recorders have a great potential. However, developing new types of thermo-recording materials and devices, which can provide information of both temperature and time, remains an important challenge.
In this research, an irreversible deformation of the polymeric inverse opal is used to fabricate patch-type colorimetric thermo-recorders. Inverse opal, which consists of the negative photoresist, or SU-8, becomes compressed under a thermal stress in order to lower the surface tension between the air bubble and SU-8. When the inverse opals are compressed,  the structural color of the inverse opal blue-shifts. Analyzing the characteristic of the strain rate, which depends on the crosslinking density of the SU-8 and the temperature, is required to obtain the data of time and temperature. After the analysis, different crosslinking densities within single inverse opal film are obtained by photolithography to record both time and temperature. This fabrication method can be used in many applications as a colorimetric thermal-recorder.
