The aim of this study is to investigate improvement and protection for damaged hair treatment with tuna skin (TS) and shark gristle (SG) as marine extract. To observe changes after each extract treatment, we damaged virgin hair by using hair bleaching (thrice with interval 20 minutes). Bleached hair was treated with solutions dissolved TS and SG of concentration 10, 95% in distilled water, and then treated hair was washed with commercial shampoo. This process was repeated once a day for a week. We measured its hair care effects through the various tests. We performed Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), ATM, TGA, FTIR, BCA protein assay and measured thickness change of the hair sample. As a result, the extracts recovered the damaged hair. Thus, the hair treatment using TS, SG extracts would be effective to improve the damaged hair with hair bleaching. |
