Preparation and Application of Ionic Functionalized Polyester Copolymers for Cosmeceutical Formulation |

Methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-b-poly(ε-caprolactone)(MPEG-PCL) copolymers is biocompatible and biodegradable materials. MPEG-PCL widely used as active materials, but is suitable only for long-term substances because of its high crystallinity. For this reason, we synthesized 4-benzyloxy caprolactone(fCL) and randomly copolymerized with CL. Methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-b-[(poly(ε-caprolactone)-ran-poly(4-benzyloxy caprolactone)](MPEG-PCfCL) copolymers were designed such that the PCfCL content (0-50 mol %) in the PCL segment was varied and the benzyloxy groups substituted for amine groups for electrostatic interaction with ionic functionalized materials. Then, we prepared adapalene(ADP) loaded nanoemulsion including the copolymers for cosmeceutical formulation. The ADP that has carboxylic groups interacts with the copolymers in ADP-nanoemulsion. Therefore, ionic functionalized polyester copolymers in emulsion can be used as a great formulation in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical fields. |
