Rational design and preparation of molecular-level ordered polymers via chemical crosslinking |
초록 |
Chemical crosslinking of polymers has been considered to be a random reaction for network structures. However, a controlled crosslinking can inhibit the rotational freedom of polymer chains, resulting in highly crystalline structures. Thus, we have produced different molecular-level ordered polymers by simple strategies of top-down and bottom-up crosslinking. These approaches demonstrate the controlled crosslinking of functional polymers with different crosslinkers in top-down study, whereas in bottom-up research we used two-monomer-connected precursors for crosslinking at monomer- or oligomer-level to inhibit the chain entanglements during polymerization. We identified molecular crystal structures using high-voltage electron microscopy, which is capable to provide quantitative structural data along different zone axes, coupled with X-ray diffraction. Our methods for molecular-level ordered polymers can provide the basis for new directions to polymer synthesis and crystallography. |
