Preparation and Its Optical Propeties of Titania Inverse Opal Monolayer Fims |

Due to its periodic structure and high contrast of refractive indices, the titania inverse opal has been considered as a good candidate for the photonic crystals. Many papers about the multilayer inverse opal have been reported. However, there never has been a paper about titania inverse opal monolayer. In this study, we researched about titania inverse opal monolayer which was fabricated using PS nanoparticles monolayer. It has ordered void spaces covered with a thin titania film and the void spaces look like rectangular in cross sectional view due to the shrinkage during calcination step for removing the PS template. Transmission UV-Visible spectra in the vertical direction show that the inverse opal monolayer has stop-band and it can be tunable by varying the size of PS particles. And because of the similar structure with the slab structure in lateral directions, it can replace the 2D photonic crystal patterns fabricated by complicated and expensive ways. |
