Mechanical and biological properties of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) composites with various shapes of Mg(OH)2 particles |
초록 |
Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is an attractive biodegradable polymer in medical applications. However, original monomers of PLGA can lead to the acidic environment that may cause inflammation. In this study, we prepared the various shapes of Mg(OH)2 particles to improve the mechanical properties of polymer matrix. The pH neutralization effects and mechanical properties of Mg(OH)2 were investigated. All types of particles showed neutralizing effect. Especially, fibrous type of Mg(OH)2 exhibited the highest mechanical property. Therefore, Mg(OH)2 particles has a potential application as an additive in biodegradable polymer composites for implants to enhance the mechanical and biological properties. |
