제목 NiFe Layered double hydroxide for efficient water splitting anode
초록 Most of the technologies in moderndays rely on fossil fuels. However it causes many environmental problems including global warming, huge amount of carbon emission.

Photoelectrochemical water splitting is rising as proper future alternative energy since it is clean, renewable and has unlimited sources. Two reactions occur in water splitting process, hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) and oxygen evolution reaction(OER). Overcoming overpotential and slow kinetics in each process is major challenges. This research focused on photoelectrode catalysts for OER process. OER is four electrons contained reaction and it has sluggish kinetics and high over potential. So it is the main rate determining process in water splitting reaction.

Layered double hydroxide has been known as promising catalysts for water splitting OER. It has high electrocatalytic activity, good electrochemical durability, low cost, material flexibility. Especially in electrocatalytic activity, it shows small onset potential, large aniodic current density.

This research fabricated NiFe layered double hydroxide on silicon substrate through electrodeposition process. It showed good photoelectrochemical ability and stability. Further researching this layred double hydroxide for photoelectrochemical electrode catalysts will yield highly efficient water splitting by overcoming OER process.
