Hydroxyapatite (HA) seems to be the most suitable bioceramics for hard tissue replacement because it is the main mineral constituent of teeth and bones and has excellent biocompatibility with skin, hard, and muscle tissue. In this study, the novel and simple electrospinning technique was used to prepare HA fibers by spraying a precursor solution and calcining the as-electrospun fibers at different temperatures. The composites of collagen-immobilized hydroxyapatite nanofibers were synthesized using 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as a spacer. Surface characterization of the composite was carried out using different physico-chemical (FT-IR, XPS, XRD, SEM and EDS) techniques, and cell adhesion and proliferation on the composite material were also studied. |
