Platinum has been considered as the most active electrocatalyst for fuel cells over the past years. However, high cost remains a critical challenge to large-scale application. Thus, great efforts have been devoted to develop non-noble catalysts for the replacement of Pt. Recently, pyrolyzed Fe-N-C materials have been stimulating a wide interest as a promising candidate for alternative electrocatalyst because of their low cost, outstanding catalytic activity and stability. Here, we adopted electrospinning process to produce a gram scale of Fe-N-CNF catalyst per batch and carried out electrochemical analyses to evaluate the catalytic activity of the synthesized Fe-N-CNF. Also, we applied a ball-milling process to excavate active sites of a high-performance Fe-N-CNF catalyst. We evaluated the performance of pulverized Fe-N-CNF in ORR. |
