제목 Characterization of Polyurethane/MMT Nanocomposites as Actuators
초록 Electro statically stricted polymer (ESSP) has relatively large actuation strain and actuation pressure among electro active polymers (EAPs). Especially polyurethane (PU) has relatively rapid response time in the ESSP. PU/MMT nanocomposites showed superior elongation and storage modulus to pure PU in several studies. We prepared PU/MMT nanocomposites with different PU hard contents and clay contents to investigate the actuation properties of PU/MMT nanocomposites. From X-ray diffraction (XRD) results of PU/MMT nanocomposites, it could be known that silicate layers were completely exfoliated in the polyurethane matrix. We also used compliant PU carbon black electrode for the measurement of displacement in the electric field. PU/MMT nanocomposites showed superior displacement to pure PU. And PU with hard content of 30% had rapid response time than PU with hard content of 25%.
