제목 Bioresponsive Behavior of Hydrogel for a Specific Target Protein Using Biomolecules
초록 It is getting more important to detect low concentration of target molecules in the field of medical diagnostics and environmental toxins. In our work, macromolecules such as aptamer, antibody were applied in hydrogel materials with biological response to target proteins were built. These ‘smart materials’ can change their properties in response to biomolecular recognition. Hydrogels are extensively hydrated and provide elastic, semiwet, 3D environments appropriate for biological interaction. Moreover, the gels can be dried for long term storage and reversibly used without loss of activity. When exposed to biomolecules such as antibody or aptamer, molecular recognition leads to change in morphology, volume or color with interaction between biomolecules and target proteins. This phenomenon occurs with hydrogel prepared by grafting the biomolecules correspond to target proteins to the polymer network, interplay between the two biomolecules induced volume change.
