Electromagnetic Energy Absorption Properties of rGO/MOS2 Hybrid Nanofiller Reinforced Polyurethane Composite Foam |

High-performance electromagnetic shielding with strong absorption and lightweight are necessary for industry and military application. Herein, two dimensional layered nanostructures, such as graphene and graphene-like, were adopted due to their unique structure and properties. Here, hybrid nanofiller of reduced graphene oxide-molybdenum disulfide (rGO/MoS2) composite was prepared by hydrothermal reaction. Further, nanocomposite foam of thermoplastic polyurethane was prepared by unique phase separation technique. The hybrid of rGO/MoS2 prevent restacking of nanosheets and can be reinforced effectively. From the preliminary shielding tests conducted in X-band frequency range, indicates the hybrid nanofiller and porous structure of foam helped in improving the conduction and polarization losses synergistically. Furthermore, DMA was also conducted for insight the reinforcement effect of hybrid rGO/MoS2 over thermomechanical properties of PU nanocomposite foam. The results conclude that rGO/MoS2 nanocomposite can serve as excellent light-weight electromagnetic wave absorber for various engineering applications. |
