Photoreduction of CO2 into energy-rich products has been recognized as an ideal solution; rising atmospheric levels of CO2 as well as the depletion of fossil fuel reserves. However, so far photocatalysts used noble metals known as highly expensive materials for mass production. In this respect, we suggest effective photocatalyst with MoS2 as a cost-effective noble metal free cocatalyst for CO2 photoconversion for the first time. By mimicking the nature leaf structurally as well as chemically, 3D porous structure offer efficient pathway for diffusion and adsorption of CO2. Artificial Z-scheme with TiO2, MoS2 and graphene fabricated by one-pot hydrothermal method improve overall catalytic performance. Electron microscopy identified mesophyll-like graphene structure with few layered MoS2 and 15 nm TiO2 particles. Through PL spectra and conversion test, it shows efficient charge separation and higher selectivity and yield in CO among others. |
