Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is one of the major causes of acute and chronic liver cancer. Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is the most commonly used serological marker of infection for diagnosis of HBV infection. In this study, we fabricated highly sensitive field effect transistor (FET)-type HBsAg sensor using polypyrrole (PPy) nanorod arrays electropolymerized on CVD graphene. Electropolymerized PPy nanorod arrays were treated with acid solution in order to introduce carboxylic acid groups that can react with amine terminated aptamers. Using typical liquid-ion top gate configuration, the HBsAg sensor exhibited excellent sensitivity with target concentration as low as ~1 fM. Also, it showed good selectivity in saliva samples, which offers opportunity for noninvasive detection of HBsAg. |
