Polymeric materials are used in a variety of applications, but they are susceptible to damage induced by various physical and chemical factors. This results in microcrack formation and propagation, ultimately leading to significant reduction in mechanical performance and other desired properties of the materials. Recently, much attention has been paid to crack healing in polymeric matrixes. In this work cinnamate-containing siloxanes were synthesized as healing agents and their applicability to crack healing was investigated. |
