제목 Synthesis of Wholly Aromatic Poly(Ester-Amide) Fibers Exhibiting Liquid Crystaline Properties in Organic Solvents
초록 Aromatic polyamides abbreviated to aramids are researched during decades to make good use of their excellent thermal and mechanical properites. But their poor solubility in organic solvents resulting from the strong inter-chain hydrogen bonding and rigidity of aromatic ring gives to processcing difficulities and limit their application. In this study, we prepared diamine monomer containing an ester group between two aromatic rings and a chlorine group on one benzene ring. When polymerize chlrorinated aromatic diamines only, we cannot get solution dope because of high regularity of polymer backbone. By copolymerizing two kinds of aromatic diamines, we can get solution dope. This copolymer showed enhanced solubility in amide solvent like NMP or DMAc. Optically anisotropic solution dope could be prepared in NMP+CaCl2 condition. At 6 wt% polymer concentration, the dope showed the highest viscosity and the formation of liquid crystalline phase was started.
