The Effect of Drug Release from Osmotic Pellet Related to the Various Ratio of Eudragit® RL and RS. |
초록 |
Purpose. We examined the effect of ratio for Eudragit RL and RS as the membrane layer as well as their coating thickness in the view of drug release behavior. Methods. The membrane layer plays an important role in a control of the drug release. Osmotic pellets with nifedipine as model drug was easily obtained in a good yield by fluidized bed coater. Release of drug was examined following the dissolution test(paddle method) in United States Pharmacopoeia(USP). The paddle speed was 50rpm. HPLC separation was carried out on a Waters Xterra C18 (3.9 ×150 mm) column at a flow rate of 0.5 mL/min with an analysis time of 6.0 min. The surface characteristics of the coated pellets before and after dissolution test were observed by SEM. Conclusions. It was found that the drug release from osmotic pellets depended on the composition ratio and coating thickness of membrane layer. Acknowledgment.
