In this study, poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and chitosan oligosaccharide (COS) nanofibers and nanoparticles were fabricated using electrospinning method with aqueous solutions of 1-15 wt.% polymer concentration. SEM, TEM, XRD, and TGA were utilized to characterize the morphology and properties of PVA/COS nanofibers and nanoparticles. The effects of PVA/COS mass ratio, total polymer concentration and processing parameters such as applied voltage and capillary-to-collector distance play an important roles in controlling the fibers and particles morphology. This research was financially supported by the Ministry of Education Science Technology (MEST) and Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) through the Human Resource Training Project for Regional Innovation. |
