제목 Reaction mechanism in the Sulfur dioxide and Nitric oxide Removal using Euchlorine Gas
초록 Euchlorine which is a mixture of chlorine-dioxide and chlorine gases in the molar ratio of two was generated by chlorate-chloride process. The present study attempts to utilize euchlorine to clean up NO gas individually as well as SO2 and NO gases simultaneously from the flue gas in the lab scale bubbling reactor and investigate the mechanism involved in it. Chlorine dioxide first oxidizes NO into NO2 completely and thereafter it is finally converted into nitrate. SO2 removal efficiency of ~100% and NOx removal efficiency of ~60% have been achieved under optimized conditions. Analysis of the reaction solution revealed that the major byproducts formed in the course of treatment are chloride, nitrate and sulfate ions. A plausible mechanism has been suggested for the removal of SO2 and NO using euchlorine.
