In this study, bio-based high elastic polyurethane was prepared by using polycaprolactone diol, 1' isosorbide, hexamethylene diisocyanate and using urushiol to impart antibacterial properties. The polyurethanes were produced by one - shot bulk polymerization without catalyst. The successful synthesis of the polyurethanes were confirmed by FT-IR and GPC. The thermal properties were characterized by thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The mechanical properties were measured using universal testing machine (UTM). Degradation test was performed using PBS solution. The antibacterial activity was evaluated using Staphylococcus aureus and MRSA and biocompatibility of PUs were tested using HaCaT for biomedical applications. |
