Composite materials, which are high-performance materials made by combining fiber materials and resin materials, are currently applied to various fields. Epoxy resin, which is a thermosetting resin, has excellent interfacial adhesion to carbon fibers and is used as a matrix of thermosetting carbon fibers prepregs. Recently, its use as a structural material for aircraft is increasing. Since epoxy has brittle fracture properties, it is necessary to improve the properties through the introduction of organic and inorganic materials and surface modification to satisfy the required properties (high toughness, high heat resistance) for application to aircraft. In this study, in order to improve the dispersibility of nanosilica in epoxy resin, a silane coupling agent was introduced to proceed with surface modification, and the physical properties were evaluated through compounding with the resin. |
