Study on conversion of perhydropolysilazane activated by a photobase generator at low energy UV irradiation |

PHPS (Perhydropolysilazane) is an inorganic compound with Si-N bonds that can be treated in solution and has properties similar to glass after curing. In general, for curing of PHPS, there are several methods including ammonia vapor exposure, thermal, and VUV irradiation. Among the various curing methods, the UV irradiation curing method can be processed at a low temperature, so there is almost no deformation or damage to the substrate when it is cured by coating it on a polymer substrate. In this study, PHPS was cured using Hg lamp UV and pulse UV after adding a photobase generator. The photobase generator is irradiated with UV to form an amine. The formed amines hydrolyze the Si-H groups of PHPS and promote the formation of Si-O-Si groups. Therefore, we can successfully obatine a densely cured silica film by irradiating low energy UV. |
