Superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles with suitable biocompatible molecules have been widely used for in vivo applications. In this study, superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles(NP) were prepared by the thermal decomposition of iron(Ⅲ) acetylacetonate[Fe(acac)3]. Oleic acid(OA) and oleylamine(OAm) were used as surfactants to control the size of iron oxide nanoparticles. Sulfo-SMCC was then coupled onto the surface of magnetite nanoparticle(SNP). Finally, homing peptide, which obtained by phage display technique, was immobilized on the surface of the SNP for specific targeting. The magnetite nanoparticles and peptide modified nanoparticles were then characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) etc. Interaction of homing peptide-immobilized nanoparticles with bladder cancer cells were investigated to examine intracellular uptake of the particles into target cells. |
