Self-healing and Sensing properties of Spiropyran into bio-based epoxy vitrimer |
초록 |
Thermosets have outstanding mechanical properties and solvent resistance as compared with thermoplastics. But they also have limitations of recyclability, reshaping, and reprocessability that bring about problems with a large amount of plastic waste. Recent studies have introduced the concept of vitrimer to handle these limits because vitrimer can be recycled and reprocessed on transforming its reversible topology. In this study, the vitrimer composites containing spiropyran are ready using citric acid and epoxy derivatives. Spiropyran is a mechanophore in which the photochromic phenomenon is observed by mechanical stress. To maintain the mechanophore properties of spiropyran inside the vitrimer composites, we synthesized thermally and chemically stable spiropyran beads by emulsion polymerization. Vitrimer composites showed excellent self-healing and self-diagnostic properties and will be applicable in various fields. |
