Sb-doped SnO2 is the widely used electrocatalyst, well known to induce contaminant decomposition through the formation of reactive oxygen species. In this study, Sb-doped SnO2 and Ta-doped SnO2 were compared to observe the electrocatalytic behavior according to doping materials. The optimum doping level of Ta-SnO2 was observed through the decomposition performance of phenol, N,N'-dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline, and rhodamine-B, and the best performance was observed when was the 1% doping concentration. In order to compare the electrochemical activity, phenol decomposition of Sb-SnO2 and Ta-SnO2 was observed in various electrolytes. Through the determination of intermediates of phenol decomposition, It was confirmed that Sb-SnO2 was superior in the generation of reactive oxygen species and Ta-SnO2 was excellent in the generation of reactive chlorine species. |
