제목 Study on nickel electroless plating of alumina particles
초록 In this study, Ni-coated Al2O3 composites were synthesized using an elctroless plating method. The morphology and microstructure of electroless Ni coating was examined by varying major processing parameters, such as etching process, plating solution concentration, plating times and reduction time. Etching of the Al2O3 platelets appears to be a key factor to form a umiform Ni layer coating on the Al2O3 platelets. The tickness of the resultant uiform Ni coating layer was increases from 20 nm th 100nm with increasing concentration in electroless Ni plating solution from 8.2 g/L to 32.8 g/L. Followed by increasing concentration, content of Ni (from 2.6 wt.% to 21.7 wt.%) and P (from 0.1 wt.% to 2.5 wt.%) increases. In the case of increasing plating time, content of Ni (from 19.2 wt.% to 7.2 wt.%) and P (from 1.7 wt.% to 0.8 wt.%) decreases. The best result with more a uniform Ni coating was achieved with a double plating process and a 6 h reduction time. Spark plasma sintering was applied to successfully produce Ni-coated Al2O3 composites.
