Dip-Pen Nanolithography (DPN) is a new technique in which an AFM tip is used as a nano-pen to transport directly a range of polymers onto a surface in the ambient atmosphere. DPN has important advantages over conventional lithographic techniques. It can generates arbitrary molecular patterns easily without the need for resists or masks and also define different structures of polymers with functions that might be used in the fabrication of new devices. In this presentation, the current status of DPN technique is introduced and the works carried out in our laboratory, patterning of organic molecules on various substrates and the formation of 3-D nanostructures, are also reported.
