Comparison of Physical and Mechanical Properties of p-DCPD for 3 Different Catalysts |

p-DCPD resin is typically high impact strength polymer and applied for heavy construct and agricultural truck body. In this work the effect and the optimum condition of catalyst were investigated. Each DCPD with 3 catalysts showed different properties. DCPD with W showed high impact strength but lower tensile and flexure strengths, whereas DCPD with Mo showed higher tensile and flexure strength but lower impact strength. On the other hand, DCPD with Ru showed similar trend as epoxy and easy processibility under open system unlike close system for W and Mo cases. Total mechanical properties showed rather lower than DCPD with W or Mo.
