제목 Comparison of Ethylene by Silica-supported Tridentate Fe(II), Co(II) Catalysts and Homogeneous Catalyst
초록 Homogeneous tridentate Fe(II) and Co(II) catalysts developed by Brookhart showed high activities in ethylene polymerization and produced linear polymers had good physical properties. Considering industrial applications and various effects, it is required to heterogenize the catalysts. Most of heterogeneous catalysts studied so far were mixed simply with supporter and catalyst. Here, we synthesized well-defined heterogeneous catalysts by connecting ligand with silica supporter by covalent bond. Ethylene polymerization by using the catalysts showed lower polymers with higher molecular weight, compared to those of homogeneous catalysts. Here we report the activities of ethylene polymerization and the physical properties of produced polymers in order to make a comparison between heterogeneous catalysts' and homogeneous catalysts' effects.
