제목 Effect of crosslinking agent on particle morphology via seeded polymerization
초록 Micron-sized monodispersed polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) particles were prepared in aqueous-alcoholic media by seeded polymerization. The effect of crosslinking agent on the final particle morphology and size were investigated. In the polymerization process, microphase separation occurred due to a network formation, which causes phase heterogeneity in the polymer particles. Localized heterogeneity phenomenon causes to produce not only micro porous particles but also rough particles. The chemistry of the reactive vinyl group and chain length of the crosslinker affect the stability of the particle formation and ultimate morphology.
