This study is concerned with the surface modification of titanium to be used for the dental bracket by the PEO method. PEO technique is similar to the principle of anodizing to form an oxide film on the surface, But PEO coating can be formed in a short time, and physical properties are better than anodizing. Because surface is modified from high voltage and low current. Tooth brackets of the traditional metallic material, mainly use stainless, has low aesthetic effect, but ceramic materials, has better aesthetic effect, physical properties are relatively weak. Therefore, the studies that indicate the effect of the ceramic to metal materials has been attracting attention. This study confirmed that the type of electrolyte, the current intensity, and time of process could increase corrosion resistance, and various colors were implemented on the titanium surface. |
