Hydrogen peroxide is an environmental friendly oxidant which is used in many fields such as pulp bleaching, food, and AOP. An anthraquinone process which is high cost and produces unwanted by-products is operated to produce it. To achieve energy efficiency and pure hydrogen peroxide generation, solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) system consisting of two compartments separated by SPE could be employed. This system has several advantages such as energy efficiency and using no aqueous electrolyte, so pure hydrogen peroxide could be generated efficiently. Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate electrolyte-free hydrogen peroxide generation in SPE system. Carbon material, stainless steel mesh, and Ag/AgCl electrode were used as a working, counter, and reference electrode, respectively. |
